After more than 30 years...
Long-awaited, the Command Vehicle and Labor Carrier have finally been immortalized as model kits!
From the anime series *Patlabor* comes the "Type 98 Special Command Vehicle + Type 99 Special Labor Carrier"—the specialized vehicles utilized alongside the police Labors—now finally realized as a 1/60 scale assembly model kit! This marks the very first time since the anime's original broadcast that the Labor Carrier has been released as a model or assembly kit.
Under the thorough supervision of designer Shoji Kawamori, the vehicles' internal structures have been upgraded and their details refined, resulting in a definitive, modernized rendition of these iconic vehicles.
The carrier boasts an impressive overall length of 29 centimeters. Each wheel is connected via a metal axle, allowing for free rotation, while the tires themselves are made of rubber. The patrol lights and windows are crafted from clear plastic parts.
In addition to standard forward and backward wheel rotation, the tractor unit features a left-and-right steering mechanism for its front wheels, allowing the vehicle to be posed in a turning stance. The kit faithfully recreates the retractable spotlight mechanism located on the vehicle's roof, as well as the interior cockpit details.
The multi-purpose gantry at the rear of the carrier is designed to mount separately sold MODEROID kits—such as the Ingram, Peacemaker, or Valiant—allowing you to display the police Labors just as they appeared in the series. Furthermore, the gantry features articulated arms to secure the Labor in place, a rotating crane mechanism, and extendable access steps.
The vehicle's stabilizing outriggers also feature an extendable mechanism. The multi-purpose hangar unit features a 90-degree vertical lifting mechanism, allowing you to recreate the memorable deck scenes from the series where the Labors are loaded!
Packaged together with a 1:1 scale Command Car, this set includes essential components for recreating the full operational setup of Special Vehicles Division 2. With pre-colored plastic parts, select pre-painted components, and water-slide decals for replicating vehicle markings, assembly allows you to reproduce an appearance remarkably close to its on-screen depiction.
